An Indianapolis woman landed in the Sullivan County Jail Thursday after allegedly bringing drugs into the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.
According to a news release issued by the prison, Rene Vanessa Searcy, 24, Indianapolis, was stopped at the visitor processing center by personnel acting on “gathered intelligence.” A search of her person produced more than 47 grams of marijuana, the release stated.
Searcy had been attempting to visit Charles Archey, 23. Archey is serving a 19-year sentence on multiple Marion County convictions, including robbery, carrying a handgun without a permit, resisting law enforcement, residential entry and dealing a controlled substance.
According to the release, Searcy now faces a class-C felony charge of trafficking with an inmate and a class-D felony of possession of a controlled substance. She was taken to the Sullivan County Jail by Indiana State Police. Her bail is set at $20,000.
