Prison Guard In Stable Condition After Stabbing
Ridgeville, SC (AHN) - Two Death Row inmates are being held in special cells at the Lieber Correctional Institute in Ridgeville after they stabbed a prison guard with a makeshift weapon.
Authorities say 30-year-old Quincy Allen and 26-year-old Mikal Mahdi attacked the officer while he was monitoring them in an outside fenced area Wednesday morning.
The officer was able to get away from the two and sought refuge in a prison dormitory. Other guards were able to subdue the two attackers using "chemical munitions."
