Oprah will feature Indiana Death Row inmate
Matthew Eric Wrinkles is set to be the first convicted killer executed by Indiana in more than two years, on Dec. 11. He will probably have clemency hearings in coming weeks.
Oprah Winfrey interviewed Wrinkles via satellite from the Indiana State Prison for a show that will be broadcast Tuesday. He was convicted of killing his estranged wife and two in-laws in Evansville in 1994. The victims: his wife, Debra Jean, 31, her brother, Mark Fulkerson, 28, and Fulkerson's wife, Natalie, 26.
Among Oprah's guests in her Chicago studio are several family members, including Ira McIntire, Debra Jean and Mark's mother. A promo for the show on Oprah's website shows some tension-filled interaction between the live guests and Wrinkles -- and some probing questions from Oprah about his reputed actions during the crime.
In Indianapolis, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is on WTHR (Channel 13) at 4 p.m.
