Pendleton inmate dies of suspected overdose PENDLETON, Ind. — A Pendleton Correctional Facility inmate died early Sunday morning after a suspected prescription drug overdose, according to a press release.
The release said James F. Froman, 43, was found in his cell at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday. He was unresponsive, and transported immediately by ambulance to Saint John’s Medical Center in Anderson. He was treated at Saint John’s and then transported to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. Wishard physicians pronounced Froman dead at about 3:48 a.m. Sunday.
An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death, the release said. Facility Internal Affairs, Indiana State Police and the Marion County Coroner’s office are investigating the incident.
Froman was sentenced in September 2007 to 95 years for a Boone County murder. According to the release, he was anticipated to be released in December 2053.
