Goods trafficking at Westville Correctional Facility SBT24/7 News Report
An Osceola man was arrested just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday, for trafficking goods outside of Westville Correctional Facility in Westville, Ind.
According to police, a tower officer had seen a suspicious car in the area while working hours before. Later, the same officer saw an unfamiliar person on the premises. Derek Adams, 29, of Osceola, carried a backpack containing five cell phones and chargers, eight packages of loose leaf tobacco, three lighters, and three packages of rolling papers.
Authorities believe Adams was going to throw the backpack over the security fence to be picked up by someone later.
LaPorte County Sheriff Department officers arrested Adams and took him to LaPorte County Jail. Adams was charged with trafficking with an inmate, a Class C Felony.
