The following Agency Leadership Announcements are made. Please support these leaders as they commence their new assignments:
Superintendent Alan Finnan: Alan Finnan, effective 24 August 2009, will assume the duties and
responsibilities as Superintendent, Pendleton Correctional Facility. Currently, Allan
has been on special assignment guiding the Agency’s Mental Health effort as the
Operational counterpart to CMS. Previous to that, Mr. Finnan
served as the Superintendent of the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.
Superintendent Finnan has filled many capacities within the Department since 1992.
He has been a Chaplain, Security Threat Group Coordinator, Casework
Manager, Unit Team Manager, and Assistant Superintendent.
Alan has served the Department faithfully in many capacities; his knowledge and
Expertise in maximum security operations; case management, and Mental Health
issues position him perfectly to assume the helm of Pendleton.
Please congratulate and provide your support Superintendent Finnan as he embarks
on yet another leadership challenge within the Agency.
Superintendent Brett Mize: Brett Mize, effective 24 August 2009, will replace Superintendent Finnan as
the Agency’s Operational Mental Health Director and simultaneously commence a
three month rotation as the Interim Executive Director of Operations in relief of
Superintendent Sevier.
Director Mize began his career with the Department in 1992 as a Correctional Officer.
His most recent assignment has been as Superintendent, Pendleton Correctional
Facility, and as Superintendent of RDC. Prior to these leadership assignments Brett
served as an Assistant Superintendent, Complex Director, Training Coordinator and
every Custody rank from Officer to Captain. Mr. Mize was an E-Squad Field
Commander as well as an ERO Cadre. Between his assignments at RDC and Pendleton;
Brett served a tour of combat in Iraq.
Please congratulate and support Director Mize as he commences his new duties.
Superintendent Mark Sevier: Interim Executive Director of Operations Sevier, effective 7 September
2009, will resume his leadership role as Superintendent of the Miami Correctional
Facility. Mark has executed flawlessly during his rotation and has gained a new
appreciation for the breadth and depth of the Agency as a whole. Stretch assignments,
such as the rotations of Executive Directors, have been instituted to provide leaders with
knowledge and experience at levels above their current position
Please congratulate Mark for a job well done!
