Inmate found hanged in county jail in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH—A man awaiting trial on child pornography charges has been found hanged at the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh.
An autopsy was scheduled Thursday on the body of 54-year-old Paul Hagelthorn, of Natrona Heights.
County police say Hagelthorn was in a medical pod and had been checked on about 16 minutes before he was found hanging from a cloth tied to his upper bunk, just after midnight.
Online court records show Hagelthorn was supposed to stand trial on Thursday, before the case was postponed until July 8.
