michigan city Prison visitor accused of delivering drugs
A Gary woman visiting an inmate was arrested for allegedly bringing drugs into the Indiana State Prison.
Prison Superintendent Mark Levenhagen said staff saw Denitrius Lomax, 19, acting suspiciously when she dropped a package by a vending machine, about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Prison staff seized and opened the package, which held 1â„10 of an ounce of marijuana, six pills of Ecstasy, 2.2 ounces of tobacco and 2.7 grams of cocaine.
Lomax is being held at LaPorte County Jail on a felony charge of trafficking and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Lomax was trying to visit Craig Wright, who is serving eight years for dealing cocaine and two years for receiving stolen property in LaPorte County.
