At around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Watertown Police responded to the South Dakota Department of Corrections Office at 2001 9th Avenue SW in Watertown to investigate a report of shots that had been fired into the office. No one was inside at the time of the shooting. Multimedia
During the investigation, police learned a shot had also been fired into the home of a Department of Corrections Parole Agent. No one was hurt. The case is now under investigation by the Watertown Police Department, the Codington County Sheriff's Office and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation with the help of the Department of Corrections.
