Terre Haute - A man who was released after serving more than 23 years in prison is asking that his murder conviction be overturned.
Forty-one-year-old David Lee Scott was released from prison in January 2008 after DNA evidence linked another man to the April 26, 1985 bludgeoning death of 89-year-old Loretta Keith in her West Terre Haute home.
Scott says he is living with his sister in Seelyville and is unemployed because the conviction remains on his record.
Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt, who petitioned for Scott's release, says the DNA evidence showed that someone else was at the scene, but did not exonerate Scott.
The other suspect, Kevin Mark Weeks, was sentenced to 24 years in prison on a related robbery charge.
