Inmate escapes from correctional facility Updated: Wednesday, 11 Mar 2009, 6:24 PM EDT Published : Wednesday, 11 Mar 2009, 11:08 AM EDT • News Staff TERRE HAUTE, Ind.(WTHI)- The Wabash Valley Correctional Facility reported a minimum security offender walked away Wednesday just before 10:00 a.m. Stefon Hutcherson is five-feet-six-inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and is a black male. Police and prison officials are looking for a fugitive in southern Indiana. Authorities are searching for 22-year-old Stefon Hutcherson, who walked away from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility Wednesday. The prison now is on a full lockdown. Authorities called out the dogs to try and find an inmate who left the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. Officers covered the area just northeast of the prison trying to locate Hutcherson after he was unaccounted for in a late morning roll call. Hutcherson was sentenced to ten months for forgery. Authorities in Indianapolis capture the inmate who escaped from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle earlier this week.
Around 10 a.m. Wednesday, officials say Stefon Hutcherson walked away from the prison in Carlisle. Hutcherson was serving time for a forgery conviction in Marion County. His last known address was in Indianapolis. Police found Hutcherson at a family residence around midnight. He called authorities and turned himself in.
He's expected to be brought back to Sullivan County some time Friday.
