The Wabash Valley Correctional Facility is looking to fill jobs. On Wednesday the Carlisle facility hosted a job fair.
It is looking to hire correctional officers. In the first hour 30-people showed up to apply.
The jobs start out at $11.92 an hour. The requirements are three years of general work experience, a driver's license and high school diploma or G.E.D.
Lisa Sullivan works in the Human Resources office. She says applicants must also be flexible. “It takes somebody who is calm, firm, fair and consistent. They'll work any position in the facility. They may be in a tower one day and another day they may be in a housing unit. They'll move around and do different things each day.”
