Ft. Dodge Correctional Officer Injured

A Webster County jail correctional officer is recovering after authorities say she was attacked during an attempted escape Sunday morning.
The Webster County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Amanda Bevar over powered a female correctional officer and beat her with her flashlight. Authorities say Bevar stole the officers keys and unlocked the cell of 23-year-old inmate Jasmine Watts. The two used the keys to try and escape from the building. Fort Dodge police caught them before they could get out.
The condition of the officer has not been released.
